(14) $116,969 for upgrades/improvements to the interior and exterior of the facility currently serving as the center of operations for the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce;
Project Overview
The project encompasses both exterior and interior renovations to the building. The renovations include updating the stucco finish, paint/drywall for the interior space, addressing roof repairs or replacement, and updating the flooring throughout the building.
The building is located at 110 Phoenix Street and was built in 1985. The building was purchased in 1997 by the Greenwood Community Improvement Foundation(GCIF – Chamber Foundation) to establish a home for the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce.
The purpose of the project is to establish a modern facility catering to our business community, serving as a venue for networking events and a resource center for businesses and the community. A portion of the building is also used to benefit the Greenwood community. The space is leased to Greenwood County Community Foundation and Greenwood County – Litter Prevention Coordinator. The Chamber also manages the award-winning SC Festival of Flowers.
The Greenwood County Community Foundation(GCCF) works collaboratively with individuals and organizations to improve the quality of life in Greenwood. Through annual grant cycles, the Foundation provides funding to charitable organizations in Greenwood County. When GCCF relocated to the Chamber several years ago, the Foundation renovated their office space. This application does not include interior renovations for the space used by GCCF. The SC Festival of Flowers generates on average a yearly economic impact of $3 million within the County.
