(10) $2,937,357 for upgrades/improvements to the North Greenwood Industrial Park including, but not limited to, the improvement of utilities and other services needed at or within the Industrial Park;
Project Overview
The scope of this project entails the construction of a utility corridor and mass grading of approximately 40 acres for a future industrial facility at the North Greenwood Industrial Park (NGIP). The utility corridor will facilitate the extension of water and sewer lines to serve the mass-graded 40-acre site and up to three other sites in the back of the park for a total of four future industries located at NGIP. Mass grading will create a pad-ready site that’s under consideration for active industrial projects but will be left untouched upon completion of NGIP Phase Two construction due to budget limitations of 2016 CPST Project 10 that funded initial phases of NGIP Development. Forested sites are much less marketable to prospective industries and utilities are a prerequisite to meet companies’ operational timelines driven by today’s market. Without these improvements, Lots #3-6 at the NGIP will get bypassed for more prepared sites in other communities.
